Canine Massage Sessions

Human touch is a wonderful tool and can help
to holistically improve the well-being
of both pets and people.

Gentle, though highly effective, canine massage can greatly assist in easing stiffness and pain in joints (especially in our aging fur kids with conditions such as arthritis). It is also very complimentary when using “post-operative”, after broken bones or major muscles or tissue damage has occurred, by assisting to stimulate blood flow to those affected areas, hastening recovery time. Increasing blood flow to the areas of trauma can stimulate cell and thus tissue regeneration. It can also work in conjunction with physio, helping to increase oxygen around the affected joints and help ease the stiffness and pain associated.

Proactive pets main focus is on the benefits of massage for post-operative treatment and assisting with degenerative diseased states such as arthritis in joints, which many of our older canines may suffer from. Our qualified Remedial Massage therapist is registered with the ATMS (Australian Traditional Medicine Society) and has been using their skills for over 10 years, helping to promote wellness in people as well.

Over the years, we have seen the great benefits that massage has to offer us human varieties and now would love to extend the benefits to our beloved canines.

Massage can greatly assist to stimulate blood flow to those affected areas (eg. from torn muscle or tissue, recovery from broken bones or torn ligaments). Increasing blood flow to the areas of trauma can stimulate cell and thus tissue regeneration. It can greatly assist to repair tissue and stimulate muscle around bone injuries. The more blood flowing around the areas the faster the recovery to the affected areas.

Massage is also an extremely good way to help relax both body and mind. Canine massage may assist in this way, easing the stress of trauma associated with separation, changes to their environment or any situation that the dog endures excessive stress.
